Tracy has been a leading provider of clinical lactation support throughout the greater Seattle area for the past 25 plus years, as well as being the Owner/CEO of Nurturing Expressions in Seattle and Poulsbo. In this Q&A session, she’ll answer your questions and explore some common fears, myths, and misconceptions about breastfeeding, and replace those with solid, comforting, evidence-based information. Practical Legal Planning For New Families, Growing Families, and Single Parents. This class will cover practical legal planning considerations for new families, growing families and single parents. Emphasis will be on estate planning with children in mind, including selection and nomination of alternate Guardians for your children in the event of your passing or incapacity and establishing trusts and naming Trustees to manage assets your children may receive upon the passing of one or both parents. The class will be a legalese-free zone, with your questions encouraged!
1:00 -- Elaine Turso- Discovering your Beauty from the Inside Out We will be tackling negative body image. Are you uncomfortable in the skin you are in? Do you have a hard time receiving compliments from strangers, or even loved ones? Is your self esteem in the toilet because you just can't seem to let go of the negative comments, child hood traumas, or failing to living up to 'societal standards of beauty'? I can help. As a boudoir photographer, and body image coach, I help women accept their beautiful bodies, and ditch the inner mean girl.
2:00 -- Equilibrium Natural Health Sleep Class- sleep tips and education for pregnant women, women who have just given birth, and/or just anyone needing sleep help. Dr. Fisher's main focus for this class will be on those things that keep us from getting a good nights sleep, and some super easy ways we can increase our quality of sleep. He'll even throw in how Kinesiology can help target just what the body needs because, after all, we're all so different; and while we might struggle with the same issues, we each need something completely different from our neighbor to combat it. Dr. Fisher has the sleep answers for every struggling body.
3:00 -- Megan Kranenburg of Chrysalis Physical Therapy Backs, Bumps and Breath: Join Physical Therapist and Doula Dr. Megan Kranenburg for discussion on how great postural alignment and breathing can prevent back pain during pregnancy (and beyond), improve your overall body awareness, and prepare your body for a more gentle birth and the care of your child. Elizabeth will share practices that protect and cherish a birthing person, and explore the ways we can incorporate that into each family's postpartum experience. There will be time for brainstorming and a worksheet for planning your "postpartum retreat" at home. Elizabeth will also share recipes specifically crafted for replenishing the birthing and feeding body and offer resources for families after baby joins the family.
